Kenyan Education Delegation visits Language Cooperation Center, China

On October 22, 2025 , the Vice-Chancellor, Prof.  Margaret Jesang Hutchinson,  led a delegation to visit the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation between China and Foreign Countries. Accompanying her were Catherine Ondieki, Deputy Director of the Basic Education Department of the Kenyan Ministry of Education, and Evaleen Jesang Mitei, Chief Operating Officer of the Teachers Service Commission, among others.

Zhong Yinghua, President of the World Chinese Language Teaching Association and Director of the International Chinese Education Development Research Institute at Tianjin Normal University, accompanied the visit.

Yu Yunfeng, Director of the Language Exchange Center, met with the delegation for discussions. Both parties exchanged in-depth views on implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Chinese Education signed by the education ministries of the two countries. They agreed to promote practical cooperation in areas such as the training and development of local Chinese teachers, the development of local Chinese teaching materials, and the introduction of Chinese courses in pilot high schools.
