Varsity leads in Kenya in Times Higher Education Subject Rankings 2025
The University of Nairobi continues to cement its position as Kenya's premier institution of higher learning, emerging as Kenya's only ranked institution in the just released Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2025. The university has demonstrated strength across three (3) vital academic disciplines: – Medicine & Health, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences – showcasing its commitment to world-class education and research.
In a notable achievement, University of Nairobi secured a position in the 501-600 bracket for Medicine and Health, competing among 1,150 institutions worldwide. This placement reflects the university's robust medical education framework and research capabilities, evaluated against 18 comprehensive indicators across disciplines including medicine, dentistry, and nursing.
The Life Sciences category saw the University positioning itself in the 801-1000 range, competing against 1,143 global institutions.
